The AnimeIowa Anime Marketplace is the convention’s hub of activity. Located in the Marriott’s Exhibit Hall the Marketplace is home to The Merchants’ Market, The Artists’ Alley, The FanMarket, Staff Art table, Marriott Snack stop, and of course it’s where the Guests of Honor come when they are not busy at other events.
The room is open to all registered attendees for shopping, snacking and browsing on these days and times:

With the many advances of technology (for example photography) many changes have occurred. These services in the past were utilized by a select group of hobbies/professions because of the cost factor, but now are used by many many people for fun and for profit.
There are many who are offering services at AnimeIowa which include Photo shoots, commissions, and costumes. These services are great, but they also must keep in the confines of Iowa law for sales of goods and services.
AnimeIowa has in place a policy to include these services in the convention experience. Please review the Marketplace Paid Services Policy 2016 which covers 2017 and address any questions to: Marketplace.dept@
Iowa Sales Tax Information
As of July 1, 2016, the Department no longer issues temporary tax permits. Merchants and Artists who used temporary permits in the past at the AnimeIowa Anime Marketplace must apply for a permanent Iowa tax permit. To apply for a permanent permit, complete and submit the Iowa Business Tax Registration form Form number 78-005 is located on the tax.iowa.gov at: https://tax.iowa.gov/forms/iowa-business-tax-permit-registration-78-005-0
A permanent tax permit allows you to conduct taxable sales or perform taxable services in Iowa at any time during the year. When you attend a temporary event, such as AnimeIowa, you only need to provide the Marketplace staff with your name and address, along with your permanent tax permit number.
The process is simple and you can start selling in Iowa as soon as you fill out the paperwork and either email, fax, or mail the application. You do not have to wait for the number to arrive. (Which takes around 6 weeks.)
There is no fee to apply and receive your Iowa Sales Tax ID number.

**Take down begins at 4pm when the room closes. Tear down of booths should not begin until that time unless prior arrangements have been made. (Packing of overstock is preparation of leaving is allowed.) We ask that all personal/ company items, equipment, etc. be removed from the Marketplace by 8pm on Sunday, July 30, 2017. Your assigned area must in condition to be returned to hotel control. (Exceptions to the allotted time can be made to this with approval of the marketplace department head.)
Vendors/Artists that require power, internet, phone, and Furnishings:
Booth- Power, phone, and internet
Internet, phone lines, and power are provided for a fee by the Coralville Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. The Marriott utilities form must be completed and faxed to the Coralville Marriott at least 2 weeks before the convention to ensure your needs are ready when you arrive. Additional forms will be available at setup at the Marketplace check in table. The Marriott staff will try to fulfill these additional requests in a timely manner before the opening of the room to the public. email@example.com

You may bring additional tables/display stands and racks for your booth area as stated above.
Additional booth needs are also available and must be requested and paid for through Spielman’s. Information, phone number, and order forms are available at through the link provided on the Anime Marketplace page on the AnimeIowa website.
Marketplace Sign-Up has closed
The Marketplace sign-up is NOW CLOSED for the 2017 convention year!
Important Notice: Anyone that has not been accepted at this time are on a waiting list for openings to the room. Payment for spaces for those who were accepted this past February are due no later than April 15th. If not paid by then, we will be moving unpaid acceptances to the waiting list and sending out acceptances to replace them. Information will be sent to both unpaid and newly accepted vendors/artists on or shortly after April 16th.
For those who we won’t be able to have space for this year – the good news is that we will have double the space in our new Marketplace in the IEC convention center in Des Moines, IA. for the 2018 convention. Look for more information here in the upcoming months.
