Guidebook App

The Guidebook smartphone guide for AnimeIowa 2014 is now available. To obtain it, simply download the Guidebook app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Inside the app, search for “AnimeIowa 2014″ to download the guide to your phone. Alternatively you can go to guidebook.com/browse and search using any internet enabled device. With the Guidebook app you can create your own custom schedule with reminders, view zoomable maps of the hotel and Anime Marketplace, browse through all of our events, get live updates, and have the entire program guide at your easy-to-pocket fingertips.

Programming Schedule

The AnimeIowa 2014 Program Book is now available for early download, so get going planning your weekend! Check out the Programming Schedule page for the download link. Once again this year we will be also providing the event schedule through the Guidebook app. You can download the app to your smart phone and have the entire schedule available at your fingerprints. It includes lots of handy features such as the ability to create a personalized schedule with reminder notifications. The guide will be made available soon.

Formal Ball

Looking to dance to a classy beat? Want an excuse to pull out that old formal wear or fanciful cosplay? Come hang out with our cast of characters and dance the night away! Brush off your finery or come in whatever you like to play games, participate in contests, and dance the waltz at our AnimeIowa Formal Ball!

Panel Submissions Now Open

Are you interested in hosting a panel for AnimeIowa 2014? You are in luck, panel submissions are now open between now and May 1st. Attendee run panels are a mainstay of AnimeIowa and are crucial to keep the con fun and functional. We need quality submissions from motivated individuals such as you! If you are interested, go to the Panel Submissions page, read the rules and policies, and fill out the form. Any questions can be pointed to paneling@animeiowa.com. Good luck!

Cosplay Chess

Once again this year we are hosting a Cosplay Chess event. It’s Cosplayer against Cosplayer in a deadly game of Wizard’s Cosplay Chess. Two teams compete on a giant chess board in the hotel patio. There is a big game to be held on Sunday at 1pm. BUT WE NEED YOU! We need cosplayers and chess players to sign-up for the event. The sign-up form can be found on the Cosplay Chess page.

The theme of this chess game is School vs Non-school: characters from anime based in schools pitted against characters from anime that take place outside of school.

Family Programming

Would you like to share your passion of all things otaku with your little ones? Have you ever skipped a convention because you could not bring your children along? AnimeIowa has your solution. Introducing Family Programming, the cure to your woes. Family Programming is designed to promote panels that families with younger children enjoy together. This will allow AnimeIowa to expose and build appreciation for the Asian culture in a fun way.
