AnimeIowa 2013 IS ALMOST HERE!!!…..and it’s time to plan for AnimeIowa 2013 Pre-Con Setup. This is one of the days (other than Sunday) you can earn double hours for prizes within the volunteers booth. Prizes such as pre-reg for 2014, entrance into the recharge room, and more!
The Volunteer meeting will be at The Coralville Marriott Lobby (unless directed otherwise) Thursday July 25th, 2013 at 11:00am sharp. At that time the storage truck will be leaving the Coralville Marriott to go to the storage locker. If you can make it before then you’ll get a ride or directions on how to get to the storage locker. If you want to help unload the storage truck when it gets back, try to be there by noon, or 12:30. Volunteer jobs are first come, first serve and setup will go on as long as it needs to.

Are you interested in volunteering at AnimeIowa 2013? Then you may be interested in joining us at the Volunteer Information Meeting. The meeting will take place May 18th, 2013 at 4 p.m. at the Coralville Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. All the project leaders will be on hand to talk about their various departments, give you an idea of what their department does and what they need volunteers for! If you’ve thought about volunteering and just weren’t sure that it was for you, this meeting will give you a chance to actually talk to the staff and find out what kinds of jobs you can do. You don’t have to be a certain age to volunteer, nor do you need to have prior volunteer experience.
Volunteers are the blood of this convention. We can’t run Anime Iowa without you. This meeting is NOT mandatory. If you can not make the meeting, that’s perfectly fine. Just come visit the merry band of volunteer staff in the volunteer booth!

A reminder to volunteers that you can get an extra hour add to your volunteer card when you sign up online prior to the July 25. This is an added perk to get those volunteer juices flowing and getting people excited about the convention. As with previous years, if you help set up Thursday or help tear down Sunday you get double volunteer hours. Also, if you help with setup you can pick up your badge early if you are pre-registered or jump to the front the line Friday if you are not registered. Set up crew starts at 2pm Thursday, July 26 by the staircase in the lobby of the Corville Mariott. Be sure to email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested. Volunteers are a crucial part of AnimeIowa, they do much of the work behind the scenes that makes the convention function. As a volunteer you earn points which can be turned in for prizes or even free registration for next year. We are recruiting volunteers for AnimeIowa 2012. There will be a Volunteers Information Meeting this Saturday June 9th 2012 at 4pm at the Corville Marriott. This is not a mandatory meeting for volunteering, however it is a great opportunity to meet with the Staff and gets treats and prizes! Anyone interested in Volunteering is welcome.
