In Takenoko, the players will cultivate land plots, irrigate them, and grow one of the three species of bamboo (Green, Yellow, and Pink) with the help of the Imperial gardener to maintain this bamboo garden. They will have to bear with the immoderate hunger of this sacred animal for the juicy and tender bamboo. The player who manages his land plots best, growing the most bamboo while feeding the delicate appetite of the panda, will win the game.

Fri 9PM-10PM
Players: 3-8
In this Japanese drawing party game, players create new television shows, with them taking part in all aspects of a show’s production meetings – drawing, talking and being creative – with the aim of getting their show on prime time. Part of the challenge comes from being presented with two separate concepts drawn from separate card decks – for example, a liquid creature and a fad that appeals to kids – and figuring out how to merge these concepts creatively into a single creation.
Elder Sign
Sat 10 AM-11AM
Players: 1-8
It is 1926, and the museum’s extensive collection of exotic curios and occult artifacts poses a threat to the barriers between our world and the elder evils lurking between dimensions. Gates to the beyond begin to leak open, and terrifying creatures of increasing strength steal through them.
Elder Sign is a fast-paced, cooperative dice game of supernatural intrigue by Richard Launius and Kevin Wilson, the designers of Arkham Horror.
Lupin the 3rd
Sat 11AM-1PM
Players: 2-5
Lupin the 3rd brings the characters of the decades-old manga series Lupin III, created by Kazuhiko “Monkey Punch” Kato, to the game board. Players take the role of one of five characters from the series, each represented by a colorful miniature:
- Arsène Lupin III, the unpredictable gentleman thief.
- Daisuke Jigen, his inseparable friend with the unerring aim.
- Goemon Ishikawa XIII, the taciturn master swordsman.
- Fujiko Mine, Lupin’s charming and mischievous love interest.
- Koichi Zenigata, the stubborn and indefatigable inspector.
One of the players will control Inspector Zenigata and be visible on the game board along with his team of police agents. The other players will work together to try together to steal the treasure and escape; these players are visible only when within view of Zenigata and the police, but both sides can use tricks to misdirect the other. What’s more, as in the comic, Fujiko Mine can betray the group to try to escape with the treasure on her own!

MINDBRIDGE GAME LIBRARY
Open all convention
The Non-Video Gaming room invites you to come in and take a look at all of the wonderful games the Mindbridge Foundation has to offer. If you see one you and your friends want to play, take it to the NVG staff/volunteers, leave your badge, and have fun. Turn the game in when you are done in order to reclaim your badge.
Once you return a game you have checked out and played, you get a piece of candy. Each candy has a letter on it: S, M, or L. Whichever letter you get, you get a prize: Small, Medium, or Large!
From 4PM-10PM on Saturday, the NVG room will shut down to prepare for the Masquerade. Not to worry, though – just head on over to the AMV Room! We will set up a small library and prize pool for you to enjoy during that time.
