Due to unforeseen circumstances, previously confirmed guest David Matranga will not be able to join us at AnimeIowa in 2015. We are disappointed that he cannot be with us this time, but look forward to working with him in the future!
AnimeIowa is pleased to announce some exciting new additions to the guest lineup! We have some fabulous people coming this year, including international guest Shinichi “Nabeshin” Watanabe! For more information on all of our wonderful guests, please check out the GUESTS page.
Child Rate for Registration
Did you know that a child badge has a lower rate this year? That’s right! Whether pre-reg or at the convention, a child badge is only $35 for ages 6-12.
Spot the Ninja
Spot the Ninja is a hotel-wide activity that Family Programming will be hosting this year. We will have small decals of ninjas up around the hotel. Prizes will be given out to families who can spot the ninjas! Prize levels will depend on the number of ninja decals they find. Others are welcome to participate as well and will receive a sticker for their participation.
Merchants – The Retail Merchants space in the Marketplace is full. We will still be accepting applications for Merchants, but they will be on a waiting list to fill vacancies created by cancellations.
Artists – There is still some room in the Artists Village section of the Marketplace.
With the many advances of technology (for example photography) many changes have occurred. These services in the past were utilized by a select group of hobbies/professions because of the cost factor, but now are used by many people for profit. There are many who are offering services at AnimeIowa which include Photo shoots, commissions, and costumes. These services are great, but they also must keep in the confines of Iowa law for sales of goods and services.
AnimeIowa has in place a policy to include these services in the convention experience. Please review the AnimeIowa 2015 Paid Services Policy and address any questions to: Marketplace.dept@animeIowa.com
At long last, the Hotel Team is glad to release much needed information regarding this year’s convention. After early hotel reservations and much frustration, we present to you RAGBRAI. We are proud to be hosting our convention side by side with the city’s events this year to make for extra fun for all!
AnimeIowa will no longer use the Clock Tower as an official photo shoot location. For more information, please see the thread in the forums. Thank you!
