Room Party Rules

Rules are never fun to say, but they are ever so necessary. The number one rule is: as long as you're not breaking any other rule, have fun! If your question is not answered below, you can email roomparty@animeiowa.com for more information.

Overall Rules:

Please help keep AnimeIowa, its members, and people at the Hotel safe by following all of the rules set by Hotel. Please also follow the laws of the state of Iowa and the federal government of the United States. Please use common sense when it comes to your conduct. Any situation not covered by these rules, AnimeIowa and its staff reserve the right to have the final say. AnimeIowa has the right to refuse membership to any person for any reason it deems necessary. Decisions regarding room parties are at the sole discretion of the Party Liaison.

Party Registration:

All parties must register through the party liaison to throw a room party during AnimeIowa. Failure to do so may result in your party being shut down. AnimeIowa reserves the right to refuse a party being thrown at AnimeIowa for any reason. This decision is at the sole discretion of the party liaison.

Party Flyers:

Party flyers are allowed to be posted on any bulletin board or grid in the hotel. There will be bulletin boards or grid on every party floor, by Programming, by the Consuite, and in other high traffic areas. Flyers are allowed on the metal door frame of your room and on the plastic room number plate. They are not to be taped to the door itself. Flyers cannot be posted on any wall surface of the hotel regardless of what material it is made of. Flyers are also not permitted to be posted in the elevator. The only acceptable tape is masking tape.

*All signage must be removed by 12:00pm on Sunday

Hentai Rules:

It is the responsibility of every party or person to check the ID of the person in the room. In Iowa the legal age to view hentai is 18. Parties not following the law will be subject to being shut down as well as possible legal action if the proper authorities deem it necessary it is the responsibility of the party or person hosting the party. Only legal forms of ID such as a valid drivers license or state issued ID should be accepted. Badges are not considered a legal ID. AnimeIowa accepts no responsibility or liability on this subject.

Drinking Rules:

It is the responsibility of every party or person serving a drink to check the ID of the person you are serving a drink to. In Iowa the legal drinking age is 21. Parties not following this law will be subject to being shut down as well as possible legal action if the proper authorities deem it necessary it is the responsibility of the party or person serving the alcohol. Only legal forms of ID such as a valid drivers license or state issued ID should be accepted. Badges are not considered a legal ID. AnimeIowa accepts no responsibility or liability on this subject.

Smoking Rules:

Smoking is only permitted in smoking rooms and in areas designated by the Hotel as smoking areas. Smoking in other areas is against the Fire Code of the State of Iowa and city of Cedar Rapids. Failure to comply with this law can result in removal from AnimeIowa, removal from the hotel (to be determined at Hotel's discretion), and possible legal action by local or state authorities.

Furniture:

The hotel will NOT be removing beds or other furniture from rooms this year. Please take this into consideration when planning your party.
