Announcing Family Programming’s Big New Event!

GODZILLA-TOWN
“The arrogance of man is thinking nature is in our control, and not the other way around.”

Friday night of Anime Iowa, children ages 4-12 are encouraged to come and bring out their inner “Kaiju” (monster) to completely annihilate a small cardboard city!
While the destruction is left up to our smaller Kaiju’s of Anime Iowa, we have an art contest that is open to all ages! Break out your creativity and submit a cardboard building to us for a chance to win some “monstrous” prizes!
Crayons, sharpies, paint, any medium, multiple entries is fine as well. Please no sharp attachments to the boxes however. (We’d hate to puncture our little kaiju’s claws)
There will be both a children’s division and adults division for best cardboard structures, 1st and 2nd place in each. The winners will also have their box-buildings displayed in the art show for the duration of the weekend for all to see!
If interested in participating in this contest, all box buildings must be dropped off to the Family Programming room by 5pm on Friday. You may also bring it to the convention flat if you wish for traveling purposes, as we will have tape on hand to re-set up boxes.
Any questions may be emailed to family@animeiowa.com or posted to the forum thread for Family Programming.
We hope to see your creativity and little ones for Godzilla-town at Anime Iowa!

Enter “The Legend of Buu-chan the Ninja” Art Contest!

It’s time!  His ninja training is complete.  For this year’s Forum Art Contest, we invite you to join Buu-chan on a very dangerous mission!  Of course we have prizes, with a very special one for our first place winner.  We also know this…

Buu-chan had trained for years, mastering dozens of martial arts and fusing them into a style uniquely his own.  His porcine body was honed to perfection, every part a potential weapon.  Ancient masters had taught him how to use the shadows, employ fear, and focus his internal fire to power his attacks.  Buu-chan had become ninja, and he knew he was ready to begin the mission.
But we need YOU as an artist to show us the mission!  Did Buu-chan find fame as a undetectable assassin?  Was he less of a fighter and more of a mysterious lover?  Was the mission a comedy rather than an action-packed success?  CLICK HERE for details, to join Buu-chan on his ninja mission, or to watch from a safe distance!  But the Legend of Buu-chan the Ninja MUST be told!
