“It’s the end of an era!  It’s been an amazing 15 year run, but all good things must come to an end…  we’re shutting down the AnimeIowa Forums and converting them for staff use only.  (CLICK HERE for full details.)  The Forum Team thanks all of our wonderful Boardies, members, and visitors who have used the AnimeIowa Forums.  Your participation and support have kept our Forums a fun and safe place to visit, and have continuously improved the AnimeIowa convention. We encourage everyone to continue their year-round AnimeIowa preparations via our website, e-mail list, Facebook and Con-goers pages, and other social media sites.”

New Staff Recruitment Meeting is January 10

Greetings from the AnimeIowa 2015 Executive Team. We are pleased to send an invitation to everyone interested to come to our New Staff Recruitment Meeting which will be held at the Coralville Marriott on Saturday, January 10th, starting at 2:00 PM. Come join us and learn about all the amazing perks you can earn by being staff, make some cool friends, and even have some fun.

Site Issues

It appears that earlier today the site was hacked. It does not appear that anything was lost, but Google is reported the site as malicious due to some malicious javascript that was injected into the site. The offending javascript has been removed, passwords have been changed, and Google has been contacted to re-check the site. In the mean time, don’t worry, the site is perfectly safe.

Behold the new animeiowa.com!!

There are some spiffy new features:

  • A new RSS feed, so you can keep up with the latest AnimeIowa news from your favorite News Reader
  • News updates aggregated to our Twitter feed, our new Facebook fan page, and mailing list
  • A special interface for mobile devices
  • Galleries for Cosplay and Con photos from past years
  • Easier browsing through the menu bar
  • Much, much, more

There will be some kinks early on, but there will be lots of new content in the coming months. If you spot any issues with the website feel free to send an e-mail to webmaster@animeiowa.com.

Don’t forget that Early Bird Registration for AnimeIowa 2011 is coming up soon, so keep your eyes peeled as more details are announced.
