Charity Project

The Charity Project at AnimeIowa is about being a good neighbor, and giving back to the community. We work with local charities and programs to help bring light to their causes, and do fundraising and other support for them. To achieve this goal we host the annual AnimeIowa Charity Auction. You can also donate at any of the donation buckets located at various places throughout the convention, and at the info desk, where you can learn more about the charity at AnimeIowa. The Charity that AnimeIowa has chosen this year is.

Tanager

Tanager has been a trusted source of support for families in Iowa for over 140 years. Tanager’s mission is simple, to provide services for children and families that inspire, empower, and heal. We achieve this by offering a variety of services across three pillars:

  • Prevention services including Camp Tanager, LGBTQ Youth Center, CDF Freedom Schools, Expressive Arts Program, Infant & Early Childhood Consultation
  • Treatment services including School-Based Therapy Program, Mental Wellbeing Clinic offering therapy, medication, and testing services, Community Based services, and Inpatient treatment and Crisis Stabilization
  • Outreach services including parent training, family enhancement workshops, professional development, and resource publication.

Anime Iowa has teamed up with some great performers to support this worthwhile origination for all they do in the area. The highly entertaining Drag show is back and this year during the show the performers will be taking donations from the audience. All donations will go to Tanger.

It’s going to be fun and a way to help Tanger in their commitment to the communities.
